Alarcón reiteró el respaldo del Gobierno de la isla a los proyectos de cooperación con El Salvador

El presidente del parlamento cubano, Ricardo Alarcón, exhortó al presidente de Estados Unidos, Barack Obama, a que libere a cinco presos cubanos acusados de espionaje. El llamado fue hecho desde El Salvador, donde está el funcionario cubano invitado por el FMLN en ocasión de 30 aniversario de este partido político.En 51 años que tiene de instalada la revolución en la isla, nunca un funcionario cubano había hecho una visita oficial a El Salvador.
Alarcón no solo aprovechó su discurso para expresar su gratitud, en nombre de Fidel Castro, a los revolucionarios salvadoreños y en especial al FMLN por haber respaldado la revolución cubana y al presidente Castro, sino también para hacer un llamado exigente desde El Salvador al presidente de Estados Unidos para que deje en libertad a sus compatriotas.
“No puedo dejar de aprovechar esta tribuna para pedir, para exhortarle al presidente Barack Obama que haga lo que tiene que hacer, debe ponerlos en libertad, él puede y debe hacerlo, ponga en libertad a los héroes y encarcele a los terroristas”, dijo Alarcón tajantemente.
Agregó que el presidente Obama debe responder también a la demanda de Venezuela para que Posada Carriles sea extraditado a ese país luego de haberse escapado de las autoridades mientras estaba siendo proceso y esperaba la sentencia del juez.
Al finalizar su intervención Alarcón dijo que el Gobierno de la isla seguirá respaldando a los salvadoreños y a los proyectos de cooperación que impulse el Gobierno del presidente Mauricio Funes y que sean de beneficio para ambas naciones.
